Frank J. Tschohl collection of Royal A. Prentice papers, 1893- 1955.

Summary: Collection consists of Prentice's personal and professional papers. Includes letters sent and received by Prentice (1932- 1956); his notarial record book as a notary public in Las Vegas, New Mexico (1893-1897); his diary from 1898 to 1903 (with many entries in shorthand); and a photocopy of the 1898 diary Prentice kept during his service as a Rough Rider in Cuba. Many materials concerning Roosevelt's Rough Rider Association are also in the collection, including its constitution and by- laws from 1951 and 1955; membership rosters from 1898 and 1955; and reunion programs from 1948, 1952, 1954, 1955, and 1956. Many of the letters received by Prentice are from Robert W. Denny, an official of Roosevelt's Rough Rider Association. Some of the letters also concern Prentice's hobby of archaeology in New Mexico.
